R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The certain knowledge of a life well lived may
  temper the profound sadness felt by the family and friends of Martin
  Shuster of Fort Stockton, who passed away on March 15, 2006, at the
  age of 86; and
         WHEREAS, Born in Pennsylvania on June 21, 1919, Mr. Shuster
  served his country during World War II at Pyote Air Force Station in
  West Texas, where he met a local girl named Wilma Hinson; on March
  17, 1946, the couple were united in matrimony, and their union of
  more than 50 years was blessed with three sons; and
         WHEREAS, The owner and operator of a local grocery store,
  this successful businessman also made significant contributions to
  the local school system through his many years of service on the
  Fort Stockton ISD Board of Trustees, including five terms as
  president; while he served on the board, the new elementary and
  middle schools were built, the Fort Stockton High School sports
  programs were greatly expanded, and the board was named the
  Outstanding School Board of Texas by the Texas Association of
  School Administrators; and
         WHEREAS, In addition, he shared his talents and enthusiasm
  with the Fort Stockton Chamber of Commerce, which named him
  Outstanding Citizen of the Year for 2003, as well as with the Lions
  Club, the American Legion, the Masonic Lodge, and First Christian
  Church; an avid golfer and a West Texas Little League commissioner,
  he coached Little League baseball for many years; and
         WHEREAS, Martin Shuster was an outgoing and optimistic man
  who played an active and positive role in his community, and
  countless individuals benefited from his generosity, his skills as
  a leader, and his practical wisdom; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Martin Shuster and
  extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his sons,
  Joe, Bobby, and David Shuster; to his nine grandchildren and two
  great-grandchildren; to his sisters, Ruth Clegg and Marian Owens;
  and to his other relatives and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Martin
  Shuster.
