R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Carolyn Scogin Beynon of Austin has benefited her
  state immeasurably with her years of outstanding legislative
  service; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Beynon began her career as a public servant in
  1986, during a special session of the 69th Texas Legislature, when
  she accepted employment with State Representative Steven D. Wolens
  as the manager of his district and Capitol offices; serving in that
  capacity until August 31, 2004, this outstanding Texan had an
  opportunity to work on legislation concerning electric
  deregulation, ethics, telephone regulation, and voting
  requirements; and
         WHEREAS, On September 1, 2004, during the interim of the 78th
  Texas Legislature, Mrs. Beynon took on the responsibilities of
  deputy chief of staff for Senator Jeff Wentworth, who represents
  Senate District 25; while associated with Senator Wentworth's
  office, she worked on the top 10 percent bill and the uniform school
  start date, in addition to orchestrating the Governor for the Day
  celebration for Senator Wentworth, which was held on November 20,
  2004; she retired from her post with Senator Wentworth on August 31,
  2005; and
         WHEREAS, Throughout her service with both Representative
  Wolens and Senator Wentworth, Mrs. Beynon rendered significant help
  to many constituents, assisting them with matters ranging from
  education to child welfare, prescription drugs, and numerous other
  issues relating to health and human services; and
         WHEREAS, Carolyn Beynon earned the lasting respect and
  admiration of all who knew her during her more than two decades of
  service to the Lone Star State, and while her presence has and will
  continue to be missed, her legacy and her many contributions have
  not been forgotten; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby commend Carolyn Scogin Beynon for outstanding
  service to her fellow Texans and extend to her sincere best wishes
  for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mrs. Beynon as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
