R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is pleased to
  recognize Krystal Austin for her outstanding work in the office of
  Representative David Farabee; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Austin has been a participant in the Texas
  Legislative Internship Program administered by the Mickey Leland
  Center on World Hunger and Peace at Texas Southern University; and
         WHEREAS, Established in 1990, this excellent internship
  program provides a unique opportunity for students from Texas
  colleges and universities to serve as interns in the Texas
  Legislature, in state agencies, and in local government offices;
  students receive academic credit for participating in the program,
  which combines study and research with supervised practical
  training; Senator Rodney Ellis serves as a program advisor, and the
  senator's office assists with coordinating the on-site activities;
  and
         WHEREAS, A native of Houston, Ms. Austin is a senior
  journalism student specializing in marketing and public relations
  at Texas Southern University; in addition, she has earned minors in
  African American studies and music, focusing on her talent as a
  vocalist; she plans to continue her work in public service and to
  travel the world; and
         WHEREAS, During her tenure as a legislative assistant, Ms.
  Austin has obtained firsthand knowledge of the governmental process
  and gained work experience in a political environment, as well as
  developed insight into the important issues facing our communities
  and our state today; and
         WHEREAS, Diligent, resourceful, and talented, Ms. Austin has
  skillfully handled the multifaceted duties of the representative's
  office and ably assisted with the needs of constituents; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby commend Krystal Austin for her tireless
  dedication and exemplary work as a participant in the Texas
  Legislative Internship Program and extend to her best wishes for
  the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Austin as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
