R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is pleased to |
|
|
recognize Nindiya Ramchandani for her outstanding work in the |
|
|
office of Senator Rodney Ellis; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Ramchandani has been a participant in the Texas |
|
|
Legislative Internship Program administered by the Mickey Leland |
|
|
Center on World Hunger and Peace at Texas Southern University; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Established in 1990, this excellent internship |
|
|
program provides a unique opportunity for students from Texas |
|
|
colleges and universities to serve as interns in the Texas |
|
|
Legislature, in state agencies, and in local government offices; |
|
|
students receive academic credit for participating in the program, |
|
|
which combines study and research with supervised practical |
|
|
training; Senator Ellis serves as a program advisor, and the |
|
|
senator's office assists with coordinating the on-site activities; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Ramchandani was born in Pune, India, and now |
|
|
considers Silver Spring, Maryland, home; she obtained her |
|
|
bachelor's degree in biotechnology from Virginia Tech and is |
|
|
currently a third-year student at the Thurgood Marshall School of |
|
|
Law; following graduation, she plans to pursue a career as a |
|
|
lobbyist; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, During her tenure as an intern, Ms. Ramchandani has |
|
|
obtained firsthand knowledge of the governmental process and gained |
|
|
work experience in a political environment, as well as developed |
|
|
insight into the important issues facing our communities and our |
|
|
state; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Diligent, resourceful, and talented, |
|
|
Ms. Ramchandani has skillfully handled the multifaceted duties of |
|
|
the senator's office and ably assisted with the needs of |
|
|
constituents; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commend Nindiya Ramchandani for her tireless |
|
|
dedication and exemplary work as a participant in the Texas |
|
|
Legislative Internship Program and extend to her sincere best |
|
|
wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Ramchandani as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
