R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The citizens of Henderson County and the members of
  the Henderson County Sheriff's Department lost a great friend and
  public servant when Deputy Sheriff Tony Price Ogburn died in the
  line of duty on May 17, 2007, at the age of 61; and
         WHEREAS, Deputy Ogburn was killed while investigating a
  domestic disturbance, and his tragic death came on the same day that
  he had joined with fellow officers to honor fallen police personnel
  as part of the annual observance of National Peace Officers Month;
  and
         WHEREAS, A resident of Log Cabin, Tony Ogburn was born in
  Norfolk, Virginia, and served in the U.S. Army before pursuing a
  career in radio and music production; he was employed as a disc
  jockey and music director at radio stations in Dallas, Los Angeles,
  Arlington, and Chicago; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Ogburn worked as a supervisor with Dallas Area
  Rapid Transit before relocating to Henderson County; a five-year
  veteran of the Henderson County Sheriff's Department, he also
  served with the Malakoff Police Department, and he was a
  32nd-degree Mason; and
         WHEREAS, Tony Price Ogburn was admired and respected by the
  members of Henderson County's close-knit law enforcement
  community; he was a dedicated professional who endeavored to make a
  positive difference in the lives of his fellow citizens, and he will
  be deeply missed by those who were fortunate enough to have known
  him; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Tony Price Ogburn and
  extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife,
  Pat Ogburn; to his sons, Ralph L. Ogburn and his wife, Shaunda, and
  Tony Ogburn; to his daughters, Mary "Peaches" Wilson and her
  husband, John, and Deborah Ogburn; to his 14 grandchildren; and to
  the other relatives, friends, and fellow officers of this esteemed
  law enforcement professional; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Deputy
  Sheriff Tony Price Ogburn.
