R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Words cannot adequately express the heartache felt
  by family and friends at the loss of U.S. Army Sergeant Anselmo
  Martinez III of Robstown, who died on May 18, 2007, at the age of 26;
  and
         WHEREAS, Sergeant Martinez was killed while bravely serving
  his country during combat operations in Tahrir, Iraq, with the 1st
  Battalion, 12th Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st
  Cavalry Division, out of Fort Hood; and
         WHEREAS, The son of Diana G. Martinez and Anselmo Martinez,
  Jr., Sergeant Martinez was affectionately known as "Baby Junior,"
  or B. J. for short; he graduated from Robstown High School, where he
  was a member of the woodshop club, and joined the army in 2002; and
         WHEREAS, A devoted family man, he cherished his wife,
  Christina, and their two young daughters, Felicity and Eliana; in
  his free time, he enjoyed fishing, especially at Oso Bay; and
         WHEREAS, Described as funny, sweet, and polite, Anselmo
  Martinez embodied the highest ideals of the armed services, and the
  memory of his love and friendship will always be treasured by those
  who knew him; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Sergeant Anselmo
  Martinez III and extend deepest sympathy to the members of his
  family: to his wife, Christina Martinez; to his children, Felicity
  and Eliana Martinez; to his mother and father, Diana G. Martinez and
  Anselmo Martinez, Jr.; to his siblings, Gabriela Espinoza, Belinda
  Espinoza, Davi Espinoza, Galdina Ibarra, and Alejandro Martinez; to
  his grandparents, Serapio Garcia, Sr., and Margarita and Anselmo
  Martinez, Sr.; and to his other relatives and many friends; and, be
  it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of
  Sergeant Anselmo Martinez III.
