R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Faye Chesteen Hughes of Golden marked a significant
  milestone on January 13, 2007, when she celebrated her 80th
  birthday; and
         WHEREAS, Born Faye Chesteen Patrick, she was the fifth child
  of Chester and Edith Patrick of Golden and was educated in the area,
  attending Belfont, Klondyke, and Golden Schools; she married
  Chilton Floyd Hughes on February 21, 1943; the couple shared many
  joyous times during their 59 years of marriage and were blessed with
  four children, Linda, Judy, Larry, and Ronald; today, Mrs. Hughes
  also enjoys the love and affection of nine grandchildren and 28
  great-grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, Known as Chesteen to her close acquaintances, Mrs.
  Hughes worked hard to provide for her family; she held jobs at a
  drive-in hamburger eatery, at Wilson's Bakery in Mineola, and at
  Glenda Scott's catering service and was employed for a number of
  years as a babysitter; she is perhaps best known to area residents
  for her long tenure at the Golden Post Office; she retired from that
  post in 2002, after 27 years of service; Mrs. Hughes still works at
  the family-run Hughes Appliance in Mineola; and
         WHEREAS, The 80th birthday of Mrs. Hughes was celebrated at
  Pilgrim Rest No. 2 Baptist Church on January 13, 2007; the birthday
  party was attended by her children, grandchildren, and
  great-grandchildren and their respective spouses, as well as fellow
  church congregants, and many of her friends; it is an honor to join
  these individuals in celebrating the long and productive life of
  Faye Chesteen Hughes and to pay tribute to this beloved woman for
  her many years of devotion to her family and community; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby recognize the 80th birthday of Faye Chesteen
  Hughes and extend to her warmest best wishes for continued
  happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mrs. Hughes as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
