R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, The friends and family of U.S. Army Private First |
|
Class Joshua Romero of Fort Worth suffered an immeasurable loss |
|
with his death on May 18, 2007, at the age of 19; and |
|
WHEREAS, Private Romero was killed while bravely serving his |
|
country during combat operations in Iraq as a member of B Company, |
|
1st Battalion, 12th Cavalry Division; and |
|
WHEREAS, A 2005 graduate of Crowley High School, Joshua |
|
Romero enlisted shortly after graduating; a loving son and brother |
|
to his eight siblings, he was especially devoted to his wife, |
|
Michelle, and their one-year-old son, Joshua David; described as a |
|
typical all-American young man, he enjoyed sports and rock music; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, Time can never diminish the profound debt that |
|
Americans owe to Private Romero for the service he undertook and the |
|
sacrifice he rendered, and the thoughts and prayers of many go out |
|
to the family of this beloved young Texan; he was a soldier of honor |
|
and valor, and those who were privileged to know him will forever |
|
carry him close in their hearts; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of U.S. Army Private |
|
First Class Joshua Romero and extend sincere sympathy to the |
|
members of his family: to his wife, Michelle Romero; to his son, |
|
Joshua David Romero; to his mother, Kimberlee Cummings; to his |
|
father and stepmother, Joe and Shellie Romero; to his siblings; and |
|
to his other relatives and many friends; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of U.S. Army |
|
Private First Class Joshua Romero. |
