R E S O L U T I O N

|
BE IT RESOLVED by the House of Representatives of the State of |
|
|
Texas, 80th Legislature, Regular Session, 2007, That House Rule 13, |
|
|
Section 9(a), be suspended in part as provided by House Rule 13, |
|
|
Section 9(f), to enable the conference committee appointed to |
|
|
resolve the differences on Senate Bill 3 (the development, |
|
|
management, and preservation of the water resources of the state; |
|
|
providing penalties) to consider and take action on the following |
|
|
matter: |
|
|
(1) House Rule 13, Sections 9(a)(3) and (4), are suspended |
|
|
to permit the committee to add the following section to the bill: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subsection (a), Section 8138.102, Special |
|
|
District Local Laws Code, is amended to read as follows: |
|
|
(a) To the extent authorized by Section 52, Article III, |
|
|
Texas Constitution, the district may construct, acquire, improve, |
|
|
maintain, or operate macadamized, graveled, or paved roads [or
|
|
|
turnpikes], or improvements in aid of those roads [or turnpikes,
|
|
|
inside the district]. |
|
|
Explanation: The addition of the amendment to Section |
|
|
8138.102(a), Special District Local Laws Code, is necessary to |
|
|
prohibit the Las Lomas Municipal Utility District No. 4 of Kaufman |
|
|
County from constructing, acquiring, improving, maintaining, or |
|
|
operating turnpikes and to allow the district to undertake road |
|
|
projects outside the district. |
|
|
(2) House Rule 13, Sections 9(a)(3) and (4), are suspended |
|
|
to permit the committee to add the following section to the bill: |
|
|
SECTION 2. Subsection (a), Section 9002.101, Special |
|
|
District Local Laws Code, is amended to read as follows: |
|
|
