R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Family and friends were deeply saddened by the |
|
passing of Roy A. Huerta, Sr., of San Antonio on May 23, 2007, at the |
|
age of 87; and |
|
WHEREAS, Born in El Paso on October 28, 1919, Mr. Huerta |
|
bravely served his country during World War II with the U.S. Army; |
|
his valorous efforts earned him several honors, including stars for |
|
the Central Europe and Rhineland campaigns, two Bronze Stars, and |
|
the Croix de Guava medal; and |
|
WHEREAS, Following his return to civilian life, Mr. Huerta |
|
worked for the U.S. Postal Service; he retired after 23 years of |
|
dedicated service; and |
|
WHEREAS, He and his wife, Lupe, were the parents of three |
|
beloved children, Grace Villerreal, Ron Heurta, and the late Roy |
|
Huerta, Jr.; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Huerta led a full and generous life, and he will |
|
always be remembered with great admiration and affection; now, |
|
therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Roy A. Huerta, Sr., |
|
and extend sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife, Lupe |
|
Garcia Huerta; to his daughter, Grace H. Villarreal and her |
|
husband, Santos; to his son, Ron Huerta; to his six grandchildren |
|
and three great-grandchildren; and to his other relatives and |
|
friends; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Roy A. |
