R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Family and friends were deeply saddened by the
  passing of Roy A. Huerta, Sr., of San Antonio on May 23, 2007, at the
  age of 87; and
         WHEREAS, Born in El Paso on October 28, 1919, Mr. Huerta
  bravely served his country during World War II with the U.S. Army;
  his valorous efforts earned him several honors, including stars for
  the Central Europe and Rhineland campaigns, two Bronze Stars, and
  the Croix de Guava medal; and
         WHEREAS, Following his return to civilian life, Mr. Huerta
  worked for the U.S. Postal Service; he retired after 23 years of
  dedicated service; and
         WHEREAS, He and his wife, Lupe, were the parents of three
  beloved children, Grace Villerreal, Ron Heurta, and the late Roy
  Huerta, Jr.; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Huerta led a full and generous life, and he will
  always be remembered with great admiration and affection; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Roy A. Huerta, Sr.,
  and extend sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife, Lupe
  Garcia Huerta; to his daughter, Grace H. Villarreal and her
  husband, Santos; to his son, Ron Huerta; to his six grandchildren
  and three great-grandchildren; and to his other relatives and
  friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Roy A.
  Huerta, Sr.
