R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, With the close of the Regular Session of the 80th |
|
|
Legislature, the Honorable Anna Mowery has announced her intention |
|
|
to retire from the Texas House of Representatives, and this |
|
|
occasion provides an opportune time to honor her for having served |
|
|
her Tarrant County constituents, and in fact all Texans, with |
|
|
integrity and distinction; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A legislator since 1988, Representative Mowery has |
|
|
chaired the Committee on Land and Resource Management since the |
|
|
78th Regular Session, and she also currently serves on the |
|
|
Committee on Public Education; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Her other appointments through the years have |
|
|
included the House Committees on Local Government Ways and Means, |
|
|
Appropriations, and Administration, as well as the Select Committee |
|
|
on Constitutional Revision and the House Joint Committee on |
|
|
Regional Issues; moreover, she has helped to lead the House |
|
|
Committees on Business and Industry and Elections as vice chair; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Exhibiting notable insight, judgment, and |
|
|
dedication, Anna Mowery has given generously of her time and |
|
|
talents to benefit her fellow Texans for nearly two decades, and her |
|
|
efforts to improve her state are greatly appreciated; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commend the Honorable Anna Mowery for her |
|
|
outstanding service as a member of this chamber and extend to her |
|
|
warmest best wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it |
|
|
further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Representative Mowery as an expression of high regard |
|
|
by her colleagues in the Texas House of Representatives. |
