R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The successful operation of the Texas House of |
|
|
Representatives during the 80th legislative session has been |
|
|
greatly aided by the dedicated work of House Parliamentarian Denise |
|
|
Davis; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Since her appointment to the position in 2004, Ms. |
|
|
Davis has capably handled her duties of guiding the speaker and |
|
|
members through the daily activities of the legislative session, |
|
|
advising members as to legal and parliamentary options, and |
|
|
offering valuable advice to members on a variety of problems; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Davis, a graduate of The University of Texas |
|
|
School of Law, has previously served as director of and counsel to |
|
|
the Texas Judicial Council, as general counsel for the Lieutenant |
|
|
Governor's Office, as house deputy parliamentarian, and as an |
|
|
attorney with the Texas Legislative Council; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The conscientious efforts of Ms. Davis have ably |
|
|
supported the members of this chamber throughout this regular |
|
|
session, and her service is truly appreciated; now, therefore, be |
|
|
it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commend House Parliamentarian Denise Davis and |
|
|
her parliamentary staff, including Larry Taylor, Jan Meinscher, Amy |
|
|
Chamberlain, and Chris Griesel, for their exemplary work and extend |
|
|
to them best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Davis as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
