R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
BE IT RESOLVED by the House of Representatives of the State of |
|
Texas, 80th Legislature, Regular Session, 2007, That House Rule 13, |
|
Section 9(a), be suspended in part as provided by House Rule 13, |
|
Section 9(f), to enable the conference committee appointed to |
|
resolve the differences on House Bill 3609 (membership and service |
|
credit in the Employees Retirement System of Texas for certain |
|
employees) to consider and take action on the following matter: |
|
House Rule 13, Sections 9(a)(3) and (4), are suspended to |
|
permit the committee to add text to Section 2 of the bill by adding |
|
new Subsection (b) to read as follows: |
|
(b) A member of the Employees Retirement System of Texas who |
|
is an appointed or elected officer of the 80th House of |
|
Representatives, as determined by the House Journal, and who has |
|
also served on the staff of a state judicial agency, and who has at |
|
least 15 years of service credit in the retirement system, may |
|
transfer the person's service credit to the elected class. A person |
|
who makes a transfer under this provision may continue to transfer |
|
the credit between classes before or after retirement. |
|
Explanation: This change is necessary to ensure certain |
|
individuals employed by the house of representatives during the |
|
80th Legislature may transfer the person's service credit in the |
|
Employees Retirement System of Texas to the elected class. |
