R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Roxanne Gonzales of the Alice Independent School |
|
District has been named the 2006-2007 Mary R. Garcia Elementary |
|
School Teacher of the Year; and |
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Gonzales demonstrated a natural aptitude for |
|
teaching as a teenager when she helped a fellow high school student |
|
with classwork; encouraged by her parents, she went on to follow in |
|
the footsteps of her sister, who first pursued a career in |
|
education; and |
|
WHEREAS, Early in her career, this first-grade teacher was |
|
chosen by her principal to serve as a mentor and model teacher for |
|
her campus; she has also helped introduce her colleagues to |
|
teaching strategies and district practices and contributed to the |
|
development of the district's first-grade science curriculum; and |
|
WHEREAS, Roxanne Gonzales has demonstrated unwavering |
|
dedication to the students of Mary R. Garcia Elementary School and |
|
has earned a special place in the hearts of her young charges with |
|
her enthusiasm, kindness, and commitment to excellence; now, |
|
therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Roxanne Gonzales on being named the |
|
2006-2007 Mary R. Garcia Elementary School Teacher of the Year and |
|
extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it |
|
further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Ms. Gonzales as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
