R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Mari Carmen McDermott has been named a 2006-2007 |
|
|
Teacher of the Year by Dubose Intermediate School in Alice; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A graduate of The University of Texas-Pan American, |
|
|
Ms. McDermott was inspired to enter the field of education by her |
|
|
parents and her kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Flowers; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Public education is an endeavor in which all Texans |
|
|
have a stake, and those individuals who devote themselves to the |
|
|
academic development of our state's young people are truly |
|
|
deserving of our highest respect and admiration; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Stimulating a love of learning in her students, Mari |
|
|
McDermott exemplifies the best in her noble profession, and it is a |
|
|
pleasure to recognize this outstanding teacher at this time; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Mari Carmen McDermott on being |
|
|
named a 2006-2007 Dubose Intermediate Teacher of the Year and |
|
|
extend to her best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. McDermott as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
