R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, A 90th birthday is an event truly worthy of
  recognition, and on June 8, 2007, twins Ella Simcik and Della Elzner
  are commemorating this occasion together; and
         WHEREAS, The children of immigrants from Czechoslovakia,
  Miss Simcik and Mrs. Elzner were born in 1917 in Petronilla, and
  they both graduated from Corpus Christi High School; and
         WHEREAS, Miss Simcik remained on the family farm on Oso Creek
  after earning her diploma; she cared for her parents until their
  deaths and continues to live at the homestead; Mrs. Elzner married
  in 1939 and became a schoolteacher; she later pursued college
  studies at Texas A&I University in Kingsville and graduated in the
  same class as her daughter; she raised eight children, and her
  family has grown to include 13 grandchildren and a number of
  great-grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, In their leisure time, Miss Simcik enjoys quilting
  and gardening, while Mrs. Elzner volunteers at her church; and
         WHEREAS, The birthday of Miss Simcik and Mrs. Elzner provides
  a fitting opportunity to honor these delightful women, whose
  warmth, wisdom, and meaningful accomplishments have enriched the
  lives of countless people; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Ella Simcik and Della Elzner on the
  occasion of their 90th birthdays and extend to them sincere best
  wishes for continued health and happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for these twin sisters as an expression of high regard by
  the Texas House of Representatives.
