R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Joe Tom White of Wichita Falls is celebrating his
  68th birthday on June 2, 2007, and this occasion provides a welcome
  opportunity to recognize him for his many contributions to his
  community; and
         WHEREAS, Born in Vernon in 1939, Mr. White graduated from
  Midwestern State University with a degree in agriculture in 1962;
  after completing his studies, he served two years of active duty in
  the U.S. Army Signal Corps as a first lieutenant and later served in
  the Army Reserve; and
         WHEREAS, For 47 years, Mr. White has worked in radio and
  television broadcasting as well as in sales and marketing in
  Wichita Falls; he was employed by KWFT Radio for more than 26 years
  and had a short stint at KGTM Radio, where he met his current talk
  show partner, Mike Campbell; in 1987, the team joined KAUZ-TV, and
  since 1993 they have co-hosted a daily morning radio talk show on
  NewsTalk AM 1290 Radio; and
         WHEREAS, In addition to his work in broadcasting, Mr. White
  and his wife, Judy, own an advertising agency; they have been
  involved in many successful marketing campaigns and have published
  The Family Sportsman Magazine for the Northwest Texas Field &
  Stream Association for 48 years; and
         WHEREAS, A leader in his community, Mr. White has
  participated in numerous area events and organizations; he serves
  on the boards of the Northwest Texas Field and Stream Association,
  the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, the Boy Scouts of America,
  and the American Cancer Society, to name but a few; a former chair
  of the Wichita Falls City Park Board and the City Arts Commission,
  he served as state president of the Sportsmen's Clubs of Texas from
  1976 through 1980 and as president of the Maskat Shrine Clowns; he
  is also a valued member of Lamar Baptist Church; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. White takes great pride in his family, which in
  addition to his wife, Judy, today includes two daughters, Jody Ann
  Lyons and Jill Elaine Wilson, and five grandsons, Seth, Cole, Ben,
  Josh, and Doug; and
         WHEREAS, A continual source of joy and inspiration to all who
  know him, Joe Tom White lives each day to the fullest, and he may
  reflect with satisfaction on all that he has accomplished while
  looking forward to many more happy times ahead; now, therefore, be
  it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Joe Tom White on the joyous
  occasion of his 68th birthday and extend to him best wishes for
  continued success and happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. White as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
