R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, King Ranch is a cultural, environmental, and |
|
historical landmark of Texas and has remained throughout its |
|
history a vital and innovative institution and treasure of this |
|
state; and |
|
WHEREAS, Under the capable leadership of James H. Clement, |
|
Jr., Jack Hunt, Helen Groves, and Caroline Alexander Ferguson, King |
|
Ranch has proved to be an effective and innovative steward and |
|
protector of the natural resources of Texas; and |
|
WHEREAS, King Ranch has continued to pursue an active role as |
|
steward and conservator of our natural resources through such |
|
measures as the creation and development of wildlife areas, the |
|
restoration and conservation of native flora and fauna and other |
|
resources, and the assessment and study of the impact of wind-power |
|
generation on the natural resources of Texas; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate the leadership of King Ranch for |
|
these endeavors and encourage them to continue their active |
|
involvement and efforts as stewards of, and advocates for, our |
|
natural resources, including encouraging and facilitating both |
|
public and governmental dialogue with the goal of furthering the |
|
development and implementation of official efforts to assess, |
|
monitor, and study the impact of wind-power generation on the |
|
natural resources of Texas; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for the leadership of King Ranch as an expression of |
|
appreciation and encouragement by the Texas House of |
|
Representatives. |
