H.R. No. 2943

R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, Brenda Guadiana has been named salutatorian of the Class of 2007 at W. H. Adamson High School in Dallas, and for achieving this significant honor, she indeed merits special recognition; and

WHEREAS, Earning the title of salutatorian requires not only intellect and aptitude, but four years of dedication to the highest academic standards; the student who garners this coveted distinction must demonstrate a thorough understanding of a wide range of subjects, from math and science to language arts and social studies, yet the rewards of the countless hours of study and preparation are myriad; and

WHEREAS, In addition to the pride inherent in being recognized as the second highest achieving student in the class, the salutatorian is frequently the recipient of scholarships and grants; this admired individual also gains the opportunity to address fellow seniors at commencement and to reflect on the shared history of the class as well as its hopes and ambitions for the future; and

WHEREAS, Throughout her academic career, Brenda Guadiana has earned the respect of her teachers and classmates at W. H. Adamson High School, and her exceptional scholastic ability, hard work, and commitment to excellence have surely opened the way to limitless opportunities for this remarkable young Texan; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Brenda Guadiana on being named salutatorian of the Class of 2007 at W. H. Adamson High School and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Ms. Guadiana as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
