R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The 80th Texas Legislature is the fifth session of
  the Texas Legislative Fellowship Program, which is administered by
  the Health Law & Policy Institute at the University of Houston Law
  Center; and
         WHEREAS, This exceptional program provides a unique
  opportunity for alumni of the University of Houston Law Center to
  serve as legislative fellows for members of health-related
  legislative committees within the House of Representatives and the
  Senate of the Texas Legislature; and
         WHEREAS, As legislative fellows, alumni of the University of
  Houston Law Center work for their respective members in Austin
  before and during each regular session and provide direct health
  law and policy research while also gaining firsthand knowledge of
  the governmental process and work experience in a political
  environment; and
         WHEREAS, The fellows selected for the Class of 2006-2007 by
  the Honorable Patricia Gray, Director of Research at the Health Law &
  Policy Institute, are: Sushma Jasti, serving in the office of
  Representative Garnet F. Coleman; Dr. Archie Alexander, serving in
  the office of Representative Dianne White Delisi; Summer Rohde,
  serving in the office of Senator Kyle Janek; and Sinty Chandy,
  serving in the office of Senator Jane Nelson; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby honor the Texas Legislative Fellowship Program
  Class of 2006-2007 for their outstanding efforts and invaluable
  service in the area of public health to the Texas Legislature and
  the people of Texas; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Jasti, Dr. Alexander, Ms. Rohde, and Ms. Chandy as
  an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
