R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The State of Texas is known far and wide as the place |
|
|
to go for exceptional barbecue; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Native Texan and entrepreneur Marc Glosserman is |
|
|
bringing Texas barbecue to New York City in the summer of 2007 with |
|
|
the opening of his Hill Country BBQ Restaurant in Manhattan; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Glosserman is uniquely qualified to spread the |
|
|
word about this distinctive Lone Star cuisine, as his family hails |
|
|
from Lockhart, which was recognized by the 76th Texas Legislature |
|
|
as the Barbecue Capital of Texas and is home to some of the best |
|
|
barbecue found in the state today; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, By sharing the culinary tradition of his hometown |
|
|
and state with others, Mr. Glosserman is certain to please homesick |
|
|
Texans and hungry New Yorkers alike, and his new venture embodies |
|
|
the best of both Texas culture and the Lone Star entrepreneurial |
|
|
spirit; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Marc Glosserman on the opening of |
|
|
Hill Country BBQ in Manhattan and extend to him best wishes for the |
|
|
future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Glosserman as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
