R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Sharing a deep bond of love that has spanned five
  decades, O. E. and Leta Hartgroves of Waco are celebrating their
  50th wedding anniversary on July 23, 2007; and
         WHEREAS, Ollie Earl Hartgroves, Jr., and the former Leta Bell
  Cupp exchanged the vows of matrimony at North Waco Baptist Church on
  that special day in 1957, and over the course of their marriage,
  they have found in each other a devoted life partner; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Hartgroves count among their blessings
  a fine family that includes their children, Tammie Hartgroves,
  Janie Hartgroves-Barton and her husband, Carl, Lawrence Hartgroves
  and his wife, Lori, and Thomas Hartgroves and his wife, Kay; in
  addition, their family has grown to include seven grandchildren,
  Samantha Weido, Christopher Paulson, and Lauren, Lindsey, Laci,
  Jacob, and Justin Hartgroves, as well as a great-grandchild, Shelby
  Blakeslee; and
         WHEREAS, Respected members of their community, this husband
  and wife team own and operate Hartgroves Tax Service; previously,
  Mr. Hartgroves worked for the U.S. Postal Service as a finance
  director, and Mrs. Hartgroves was a teacher with the Waco
  Independent School District; in addition to meeting their
  professional and family responsibilities, the Hartgroves are
  valued members of the First Baptist Church of Woodway, the Hewitt
  Lions Club, and the Historic Waco Foundation; in 1992, Mr.
  Hartgroves was elected Lion of the Year, and Mrs. Hartgroves has
  been named Woman of the Year by the Laureate Gamma Epsilon chapter
  of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, where she holds membership; a former
  Marine, Mr. Hartgroves graduated from Baylor University, and Mrs.
  Hartgroves earned her bachelor's degree from Texas A&M University
  and her master's degree in education from Tarleton State
  University; and
         WHEREAS, Looking back over the past five decades, Ollie and
  Leta Hartgroves can savor a wealth of cherished family memories and
  know that the strength of their love and commitment ensures that
  many more joyful times await them; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate O. E. and Leta Hartgroves on their
  50th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for
  continued happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Hartgroves as an expression of high regard
  by the Texas House of Representatives.
