R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Brett Chauviere of Baytown has been named
  valedictorian of the Robert E. Lee High School Class of 2007, and he
  is to be commended for his dedication and determination in
  attaining this important honor; and
         WHEREAS, Earning the title of valedictorian requires not only
  intellect and aptitude, but four years of dedication to the highest
  academic standards; the student who garners this coveted
  distinction must demonstrate a thorough understanding of a wide
  range of subjects, from math and science to language arts and social
  studies, yet the rewards of the countless hours of study and
  preparation are myriad; and
         WHEREAS, In addition to the pride inherent in being
  recognized as the highest achieving student in his class, the
  valedictorian is frequently the recipient of scholarships and
  grants; he also gains the opportunity to address his fellow seniors
  at commencement and to reflect on their shared history as well as
  their hopes and ambitions for the future; and
         WHEREAS, Throughout his academic career, Mr. Chauviere has
  demonstrated a commitment to excellence, and he graduates as an
  Advanced Placement Scholar with Distinction; he has also been a
  member of the National Honor Society, the Interact Club, Mu Alpha
  Theta, and the Key Club; and
         WHEREAS, The son of proud parents Glenn and Monica Chauviere,
  this exemplary young Texan plans to continue his studies at The
  University of Texas at Austin, where he hopes to major in finance;
  and
         WHEREAS, Brett Chauviere has earned the respect and
  admiration of his friends and classmates at Lee High, and his
  accomplishments have ensured him a future that is bright with
  promise and opportunity; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Brett Chauviere on being named the
  2007 valedictorian at Robert E. Lee High School and extend to him
  best wishes for continued success in all his endeavors; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Chauviere as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
