R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The successful operation of the Texas House of |
|
|
Representatives during the 80th legislative session has been |
|
|
greatly aided by the dedicated work of House Parliamentarian Denise |
|
|
Davis and Deputy Parliamentarian Christopher Griesel; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Since her appointment to the position in 2004, |
|
|
Ms. Davis has capably handled her duties of guiding the Speaker |
|
|
through the daily activities of house floor sessions and ensuring |
|
|
that the members abide by the House Rules; a graduate of The |
|
|
University of Texas School of Law, she has previously served as |
|
|
director of and counsel to the Texas Judicial Council, as general |
|
|
counsel for the Lieutenant Governor's Office, as house deputy |
|
|
parliamentarian, and as an attorney with the Texas Legislative |
|
|
Council; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Griesel has also brought extensive experience |
|
|
to his role as deputy parliamentarian; before his appointment in |
|
|
2004, he served notable tenures as the rules attorney for the |
|
|
Supreme Court and as an attorney with the Texas Legislative |
|
|
Council; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The conscientious efforts of Ms. Davis and |
|
|
Mr. Griesel have ably supported the members of this chamber |
|
|
throughout this regular session, and their service is truly |
|
|
appreciated; and now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commend House Parliamentarian Denise Davis and |
|
|
Deputy Parliamentarian Christopher Griesel for their exemplary |
|
|
work and extend to them best wishes for the future; and, be it |
|
|
further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Davis and Mr. Griesel as an expression of high |
|
|
regard by the Texas House of Representatives. |
