A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to excepting certain personal information concerning a |
|
|
minor from required disclosure under the public information law. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 552, Government Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Section 552.148 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 552.148. EXCEPTION: PERSONAL INFORMATION CONCERNING |
|
|
MINOR. Information is excepted from the requirements of Section |
|
|
552.021 if the information concerns an individual who is younger |
|
|
than 18 years of age at the time the governmental body receives the |
|
|
request for the information and the information: |
|
|
(1) relates to the name, age, home address, home or |
|
|
personal telephone number, or social security number of the |
|
|
individual; |
|
|
(2) is a photograph of the individual; or |
|
|
(3) reveals the name of a guardian of the individual or |
|
|
|
|
|
of a member of the individual's family. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
|
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
|
Act takes effect September 1, 2007. |
