A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to excepting certain personal information concerning a
minor from required disclosure under the public information law.
       BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
       SECTION 1.  Subchapter C, Chapter 552, Government Code, is
amended by adding Section 552.148 to read as follows:
       Sec. 552.148.  EXCEPTION: PERSONAL INFORMATION CONCERNING
MINOR. Information is excepted from the requirements of Section
552.021 if the information concerns an individual who is younger
than 18 years of age at the time the governmental body receives the
request for the information and the information:
             (1)  relates to the name, age, home address, home or
personal telephone number, or social security number of the
individual;
             (2)  is a photograph of the individual; or
             (3)  reveals the name of a guardian of the individual or
of a member of the individual's family.
       SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution.  If this
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
Act takes effect September 1, 2007.
