A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
 
  relating to excepting from required disclosure under the public
  information law certain personal information maintained by a
  municipality that pertains to a minor.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Subchapter C, Chapter 552, Government Code, is
  amended by adding Section 552.148 to read as follows:
         Sec. 552.148.  EXCEPTION:  CERTAIN PERSONAL INFORMATION
  MAINTAINED BY MUNICIPALITY PERTAINING TO A MINOR. (a)  In this
  section, "minor" means a person younger than 18 years of age.
         (b)  The following information maintained by a municipality
  for purposes related to the participation by a minor in a
  recreational program or activity is excepted from the requirements
  of Section 552.021:
               (1)  the name, age, home address, home telephone
  number, or social security number of the minor;
               (2)  a photograph of the minor; and
               (3)  the name of the minor's parent or legal guardian.
         SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
  a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
  provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution.  If this
  Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
  Act takes effect September 1, 2007.
