A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to allowing the State Preservation Board to purchase, |
|
|
lease, or maintain indoor plants for the Capitol or Capitol |
|
|
extension. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 2113.105, Government Code, is amended to |
|
|
read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 2113.105. INDOOR PLANTS. A state agency may not use |
|
|
appropriated money to purchase, lease, or maintain a live or |
|
|
artificial indoor plant unless the agency is: |
|
|
(1) an institution of higher education and the plant |
|
|
is to be used for educational or research purposes; or |
|
|
(2) the State Preservation Board and the plant is to be |
|
|
placed in the Capitol or Capitol extension. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
|
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
|
Act takes effect September 1, 2007. |
