A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the authority of a member, agency, or committee of the |
|
|
legislature to receive on request one copy of public information |
|
|
from a governmental body without charge. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 552.264, Government Code, is amended to |
|
|
read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 552.264. COPY OF PUBLIC INFORMATION REQUESTED BY |
|
|
MEMBER OF LEGISLATURE. One copy of public information that is |
|
|
requested from a governmental body [state agency] by a member, |
|
|
agency, or committee of the legislature under Section 552.008 shall |
|
|
be provided without charge. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
|
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
|
Act takes effect September 1, 2007. |
