A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
 
  relating to the manner of recording documents filed with a county
  clerk.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Subsection (b), Section 193.001, Local
  Government Code, is amended to read as follows:
         (b)  The clerk shall note at the foot of the record the date
  and time that the instrument was filed for recording, but if the
  instrument was recorded electronically the clerk may note on the
  first page of the instrument the recording information, including
  the date and time.
         SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
  a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
  provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution.  If this
  Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
  Act takes effect September 1, 2007.
