A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the authority of the Edwards Aquifer Authority to adopt |
|
|
rules relating to fire control. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Article 1, Chapter 626, Acts of the 73rd |
|
|
Legislature, Regular Session, 1993, is amended by adding Section |
|
|
1.081 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 1.081. FIRE CONTROL. To protect the water quality of |
|
|
the aquifer, the board shall adopt rules regarding the control of |
|
|
fires in the aquifer's recharge zone. In adopting rules under this |
|
|
section, the board shall consult with fire departments and fire |
|
|
marshals with jurisdiction over the recharge zone. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
|
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
|
Act takes effect September 1, 2007. |
