A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
| |
|
|
relating to the disclosure of the name of a student or minor who is a |
|
|
victim of abuse or unlawful conduct by an educator. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 21.006, Education Code, is amended by |
|
|
adding Subsection (h) to read as follows: |
|
|
(h) The name of a student or minor who is the victim of abuse |
|
|
or unlawful conduct by an educator must be included in a report |
|
|
filed under this section, but the name of the student or minor is |
|
|
not public information under Chapter 552, Government Code. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act applies beginning with the 2007-2008 |
|
|
school year. |
|
|
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
|
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
|
Act takes effect September 1, 2007. |
