A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to an allotment under the Foundation School Program for |
|
certain students who are military dependents. |
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
SECTION 1. Section 42.152, Education Code, is amended by |
|
adding Subsections (a-1) and (c-3) to read as follows: |
|
(a-1) In addition to the allotment provided under |
|
Subsection (a), a school district is entitled to an annual |
|
allotment equal to the adjusted basic allotment multiplied by 0.1 |
|
for each student in average daily attendance who has a parent or |
|
guardian who is serving on active duty in a combat zone as a member |
|
of the armed forces of the United States or the state military |
|
forces. |
|
(c-3) Notwithstanding any other provision of this section, |
|
a school district may only use funds allotted to the district under |
|
Subsection (a-1) to provide supplemental programs and services |
|
described by Subsection (c) for students described by Subsection |
|
(a-1) who are enrolled in the district. |
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2007. |
