A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the payment of benefits to certain retirees of the |
|
|
Teacher Retirement System of Texas who work during the final month |
|
|
of the school year. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subsection (c), Section 824.602, Government |
|
|
Code, is amended to read as follows: |
|
|
(c) Working any portion of a month counts as working a full |
|
|
month for the purposes of Subsection (a)(3), except that working |
|
|
less than one-half of the final month of instruction for the school |
|
|
year does not count for such purposes. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
|
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
|
Act takes effect September 1, 2007. |
