A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to revenue from Texas State Rifle Association specialty |
|
|
license plates. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 504.631(b), Transportation Code, is |
|
|
amended to read as follows: |
|
|
(b) After deduction of the department's administrative |
|
|
costs, the remainder of the fee shall be deposited to the credit of |
|
|
an account in the general revenue fund that may be appropriated only |
|
|
to The Texas A&M University System as follows: |
|
|
(1) 50 percent to supplement existing and future |
|
|
scholarship programs supported by the Texas State Rifle |
|
|
Association; and |
|
|
(2) 50 percent to be forwarded to the Texas 4-H |
|
|
Foundation in support of the Texas [to provide grants to] 4-H |
|
|
Shooting Sports Program [Club shooting sports programs to promote
|
|
|
safety education]. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2007. |
