A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
 
  relating to the penalty for certain violations of county traffic
  regulations.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Subsections (b) and (c), Section 251.161,
  Transportation Code, are amended to read as follows:
         (b)  An [Except as provided by Subsections (c) and (d), an]
  offense under this section is punishable by a fine not to exceed
  $200 [$50].
         (c)  If conduct that constitutes an offense under this
  section also constitutes an offense under any other law, the actor
  may be prosecuted under this section or the other law [If it is
  shown on the trial of an offense under this section that the person
  has previously been convicted one time of the offense, the offense
  is punishable by a fine not to exceed $200].
         SECTION 2.  Subsection (d), Section 251.161, Transportation
  Code, is repealed.
         SECTION 3.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2007.
