SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 22, Government Code, is |
amended by adding Section 22.016 to read as follows: |
Sec. 22.016. SUPREME COURT JUDICIAL SYSTEM. (a) The |
comptroller shall establish a supreme court judicial system to: |
(1) assist the supreme court in the processing of |

original proceedings and petitions for review from the courts of |
appeals; and |
(2) defray other costs and expenses incurred in the |
operation of the supreme court. |
(b) To fund the system, the supreme court shall set a court |
costs fee of not more than $50 for each civil suit filed in a court |

judicial system created under this section. The fund may not be |
used for any other purpose. |
