A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
 
  relating to the compounding of a drug or device by a pharmacist.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Subchapter B, Chapter 554, Occupations Code, is
  amended by adding Section 554.056 to read as follows:
         Sec. 554.056.  RULEMAKING; ADDITION OF FLAVORING TO
  COMMERCIAL PRODUCT.  The board may adopt rules governing the
  procedures for a pharmacist, as part of compounding, to add
  flavoring to a commercial product at the request of a patient or a
  patient's agent.
         SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2007.
