A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the requirement that a person who performs manipulation |
|
|
under anesthesia or needle electromyography hold a license to |
|
|
practice medicine. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 151, Occupations Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Section 151.057 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 151.057. APPLICATION TO CERTAIN PROCEDURES. The |
|
|
performance of manipulation under anesthesia or needle |
|
|
electromyography constitutes the practice of medicine and may be |
|
|
performed only by or under the delegation and supervision of a |
|
|
physician. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
|
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
|
Act takes effect September 1, 2007. |
