A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT
|
|
relating to the submission of ad valorem tax rolls to certain taxing |
|
units. |
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
SECTION 1. Subsection (e), Section 26.01, Tax Code, is |
|
amended to read as follows: |
|
(e) By June 7, the chief appraiser shall prepare and certify |
|
to the assessor for each county, city, and school district |
|
participating in the appraisal district an estimate of the taxable |
|
value of [school district] property in that taxing unit. The chief |
|
appraiser shall assist each taxing unit [school district] in |
|
determining values of [school district] property for the taxing |
|
unit's [school district's] budgetary purposes. |
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
Act takes effect September 1, 2007. |
