A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
 
  relating to information and training for public school educators in
  the prevention of child abuse.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Section 38.004, Education Code, is amended by
  adding Subsection (a-1) to read as follows:
         (a-1)  The agency shall:
               (1)  maintain on the agency Internet website a list of
  links to websites that provide information regarding the prevention
  of child abuse; and
               (2)  develop and periodically update a training program
  on prevention of child abuse that a school district may use for
  staff development.
         SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
  a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
  provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution.  If this
  Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
  Act takes effect September 1, 2007.
