A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to requiring the Department of Family and Protective
Services to provide certain information to a foster child who
leaves foster care.
       BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
       SECTION 1.  Subchapter A, Chapter 264, Family Code, is
amended by adding Section 264.014 to read as follows:
       Sec. 264.014.  PROVISION OF COPIES OF CERTAIN RECORDS. The
department shall provide to a child, not later than the 30th day
after the date the child turns 18 years old or is discharged from
foster care, whichever date occurs first, a copy of:
             (1)  the child's birth certificate;
             (2)  the child's immunization records; and
             (3)  the information contained in the child's health
passport, if permitted under Section 266.006.
       SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2007.
