A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to municipalities eligible to create a regional mobility |
|
|
authority. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 370.0311(a), Transportation Code, is |
|
|
amended to read as follows: |
|
|
(a) This section applies to: |
|
|
(1) a municipality: |
|
|
(A) [(1)] with a population of 5,000 or less; and |
|
|
(B) [(2)] in which a ferry system that is a part |
|
|
of the state highway system is located; and |
|
|
(2) a municipality that: |
|
|
(A) is located in a county with a population of |
|
|
more than 200,000; and |
|
|
(B) comprises 80 percent or more of the |
|
|
population of the county in which it is located. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
|
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
|
Act takes effect September 1, 2007. |
