A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT

relating to the compensation paid to a statutory county court judge in Gregg County.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:

SECTION 1. Subsection (d), Section 25.0942, Government Code, is amended to read as follows:

(d) The judge of a county court at law shall be paid an annual salary that is not less than $1,000 less than [does not exceed the amount that is 90 percent of] the total annual salary received by a district judge in the county. The salary may be paid in equal monthly installments.

SECTION 2. This Act takes effect October 1, 2007.
