SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 4
       WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize the Everman Independent School District in Tarrant County
on the grand occasion of its centennial anniversary which is
being celebrated during the 2006-2007 school year; and
       WHEREAS, The pioneering citizens of Everman recognized the
importance of education for its young people; the community's
first one-teacher school was established in the mid 1800s; and
       WHEREAS, As the city has grown, its citizens have continued
to provide superior educational facilities; schools were
consolidated in 1906, and the Everman Independent School District
was established; and
       WHEREAS, The Everman Independent School District has
provided excellent academic, athletic, and fine arts programs
that focus on the success of all students so they may develop
their full potential intellectually, physically, and socially;
and
       WHEREAS, Over the past 100 years, the school district's
dedicated and talented faculty and administrators have provided
superior education for students who have gone on to succeed in
all walks of life; now, therefore, be it
       RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
80th Legislature, hereby congratulate the Everman Independent
School District on the occasion of its 100th anniversary and
extend to the board of trustees, administrators, faculty,
students, and citizens in the community best wishes for a
wonderful anniversary celebration; and, be it further
       RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
the Everman Independent School District as a memento of this
important milestone in its history.
