SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 12

WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Ryan Newhall of San Antonio, who is being awarded the Gold Life Saving Medal; and

WHEREAS, The prestigious award is being presented to Ryan by the United States Department of Homeland Security and the United States Coast Guard for his heroic deeds while aboard the Galaxy fishing vessel in 2002; an award ceremony and luncheon are being held on January 20, 2007; and

WHEREAS, To earn the prestigious Gold Life Saving Medal, Ryan showed exceptional courage, resourcefulness, and perseverance in facing adversity; and

WHEREAS, His heroic efforts are truly inspirational and indeed worthy of legislative recognition; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 80th Legislature, hereby commend Ryan Newhall for his courage and heroism and congratulate him on receiving the Gold Life Saving Medal from the United States Department of Homeland Security and the United States Coast Guard; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for him as an expression of the high regard of the Texas Senate. Wentworth
