SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 29

WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the White Settlement Chamber of Commerce in recognizing Dr. Susan Simpson for her outstanding service to the school district and the community; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Simpson is the superintendent of the White Settlement Independent School District and was named the 2005 Superintendent of the Year by the Texas Association of School Boards; and

WHEREAS, Under her supervision, the campuses of the district have been united under a shared vision and mission; she endorses the philosophy that teachers who enjoy strong

relationships with their students can bolster students' confidence and academic achievement; and

WHEREAS, At its annual banquet on February 10, 2007, the chamber of commerce is recognizing Dr. Simpson's many contributions on behalf of the students and citizens of White Settlement; and

WHEREAS, This distinguished educator has strengthened the quality of education in the White Settlement Independent School District, and she has helped make the district the exceptional school system it is today; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 80th Legislature, hereby commend Dr. Susan Simpson on her outstanding achievements and extend to her best wishes for the future; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. Nelson
