SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 32
       WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Captain Daurence "Buck" Grainger on the occasion of his
retirement from the Mesquite Fire Department after 31 years of
loyal service; and
       WHEREAS, Buck Grainger started his career with the
Mesquite Fire Department on January 26, 1976, at Station 1; at
the time, Station 1 was the central dispatching center, and Buck
also served as a dispatcher; and
       WHEREAS, He later worked at Stations 2 and 5 on the
ambulance and transferred to Station 6 when he was promoted to
driver/engineer on January 26, 1985; he was promoted to
lieutenant on April 11, 1988, and returned to Station 5; since
earning the rank of captain on January 5, 1994, he has worked at
Station 7; and
       WHEREAS, Throughout his career with the Mesquite Fire
Department, Buck Grainger demonstrated superior emergency
operations skills and was well known for his dedication and
dependability; and
       WHEREAS, An exemplary employee, Buck is greatly admired
and respected by his colleagues, and his presence in the Mesquite
Fire Department will be greatly missed; now, therefore, be it
       RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
80th Legislature, hereby commend Captain Daurence Grainger for
his exceptional service and his many contributions to the
Mesquite Fire Department and extend to him best wishes for the
future; and, be it further
       RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
