SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 58
       WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to pay
tribute to Johnie Mae Anderson on the grand occasion of her 90th
birthday; and
       WHEREAS, A revered resident of Dallas, this gracious lady
is well known for her charm and generosity of spirit; and
       WHEREAS, Johnie Mae Anderson was born January 29, 1917, in
Bryan, and was one of seven children in her family; she has lived
in Dallas since 1945, and she served as a domestic worker for over
60 years; and
       WHEREAS, She has been blessed to see five generations follow
her--six children, 13 grandchildren,
22 great-grandchildren, three
great-great-grandchildren, and a great-great-great-grandchild; and
       WHEREAS, She has been a member of the Morning Star
Missionary Baptist Church for 52 years and has served in the
Morning Star Mission and Community Outreach Group; she also has
been a participant in the Corrigan Gardens Neighborhood
Association and the Ideal Neighborhood Association; and
       WHEREAS, A beloved and respected member of her community,
she is noted for her courage, her compassion for others, and her
enthusiasm for living each day to the fullest; now, therefore, be it
       RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
80th Legislature, hereby recognize Johnie Mae Anderson as a
treasured citizen of Dallas and our state and extend to her best
wishes on her 90th birthday; and, be it further
       RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
her as a memento of this special day in her life.
