SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 58
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to pay |
|
tribute to Johnie Mae Anderson on the grand occasion of her 90th |
|
birthday; and |
|
WHEREAS, A revered resident of Dallas, this gracious lady |
|
is well known for her charm and generosity of spirit; and |
|
WHEREAS, Johnie Mae Anderson was born January 29, 1917, in |
|
Bryan, and was one of seven children in her family; she has lived |
|
in Dallas since 1945, and she served as a domestic worker for over |
|
60 years; and |
|
WHEREAS, She has been blessed to see five generations follow |
|
her--six children, 13 grandchildren, |
|
22 great-grandchildren, three |
|
great-great-grandchildren, and a great-great-great-grandchild; and |
|
WHEREAS, She has been a member of the Morning Star |
|
Missionary Baptist Church for 52 years and has served in the |
|
Morning Star Mission and Community Outreach Group; she also has |
|
been a participant in the Corrigan Gardens Neighborhood |
|
Association and the Ideal Neighborhood Association; and |
|
WHEREAS, A beloved and respected member of her community, |
|
she is noted for her courage, her compassion for others, and her |
|
enthusiasm for living each day to the fullest; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, |
|
80th Legislature, hereby recognize Johnie Mae Anderson as a |
|
treasured citizen of Dallas and our state and extend to her best |
|
wishes on her 90th birthday; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
her as a memento of this special day in her life. |
