SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 65
 
  In Memory
  of
  Quintanna Wilson Hall Alliniece
 
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas
  joins the citizens of Houston in mourning the loss of
  Quintanna Wilson Hall Alliniece, who died January 9, 2007,
  at the age of 90; and
         WHEREAS, Quintanna was born October 12, 1916, in
  Higgins Bottom in Brazoria County; she graduated from Jack Yates
  Senior High School in Houston and attended the Houston College
  for Negroes, where she earned a bachelor's degree in English; she
  also earned a master's degree in education from Texas Southern
  University; and
         WHEREAS, She was an esteemed educator and taught English
  and mathematics in the Sweeny and Houston Independent School
  Districts for over 40 years; and
         WHEREAS, An exemplary citizen, Mrs. Alliniece was
  respected in the community for her many accomplishments; she
  served as a life member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated,
  and was active in the Interfaith Ministries Food Pantry, the
  Retired Teachers Association, and the Houston League of Business
  and Professional Women, Incorporated; and
         WHEREAS, A devout Christian, she practiced her faith in her
  daily life; she was a longtime member of Greater Zion Missionary
  Baptist Church, where she served as Mission II president for over
  35 years and was a dedicated chair of the Reverend M. L. Price
  Scholarship Committee; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Alliniece was an inspiration to those who
  knew her, and although she will be deeply missed by her family and
  many friends, her spirit will abide in their hearts for years to
  come; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
  80th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the
  bereaved family of Quintanna Wilson Hall Alliniece:  her son
  Anthony W. Hall, Jr.; her daughter-in-law Carolyn Middleton Hall;
  her stepdaughter, Freddie Lee Taylor; her grandchildren,
  Anthony Hall III and Ursula Hall; and her sisters, Francis Williams
  and Ruby Lee Petteway; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  the members of her family as an expression of deepest sympathy
  from the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this
  day, it do so in memory of Quintanna Alliniece.
